Happy Weekending

The weekend has been nice and warm. I can't believe that it's only the beginning of April to be honest. The mild winter that we had and the warm temperatures make this a but of a surreal experience. The flowers and cherry trees are in full blossom and everything is so green. First grass has been cut and the BBQ season is open. We are about 4 weeks ahead of schedule compared to last year.

Yesterday I have been out planting in the garden again. A row of spinach and planting out the sunflower seedlings in the garden. I also transplanted the tomato seedlings in bigger pots and made plans for my climbing beans.

Today was a day to relax, I just got back in from a relaxing walk out in the fields and woods surrounding my home.

30 Day Vegan

30 Day Vegan

On Wednesday I signed up to participate in the 30 Day Vegan Spring workshop from Heather. I already participated in this workshop 2 years ago when I was still in the UK. I loved the workshop and the community then and I am sure I will love it again now. Really looking forward to it, why don't you sign up too?

Garden update 25.03.2014

This last weekend I spend more time in the garden. It wasn't too warm but it was good enough to get some of the flower beds sorted and make them weed free. It's amazing to see how much spring changes everything. A few days ago things looked bare and now leafs are growing and everything slowly starts to turn green.

I cut down some of the bushes and shredded the wood into tiny pieces last ween, which went on the land this weekend

Smoker

My brother has a food smoker, that we decided to try out this weekend. My brother and his friend love to go fishing and we had a few fish left in the freezer. After putting them in a mixture of salt water overnight, we started the smoker around 9am on Saturday and by 1pm  we had some lovely smoked fish. I have asked to borrow the smoker for making some sausage later on in the year.

Hope is

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all
