BBQ

Today we had the first BBQ of the season. My brother was manning the BBQ while the boys loved being out exploring the garden. The weather was warm and sunny with a blue sky. The food was great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 

Pretty May

I absolutely love how May seemed to have changed everything. Last week it was April, it was cold, rainy and grey, temperatures were just above freezing and the wind was chilling. Today we have May and everything seems so green, sunny and full of life.

It has been a warm day today. After we spend the morning taking Omi food-shopping, the afternoon was spend in the garden. When they woke up from their nap we went outside and just enjoyed the sun. It became too hot too quick for us, so we went back inside and while Omi watched the boys, I cut the grass before went on our late afternoon walk. 

The boys were tired from today, so they are asleep since 18:30 already and I am cleaning the kitchen and sorting out the freezer after I de-frosted it last night.

For the last week or so it appears as if spring has arrived. The temperatures are getting warmer throughout the day & the sun is out more and more. I have tried to spend some time in the garden when possible. I have planted some carrots, radish, herbs and salad in the raised beds a couple weeks ago. But didn't manage to do much else yet.

This afternoon I took the boys outside with me and left them in the travel cot, while I worked for an hour, planting a few more strawberries & about 50 onions. Slowly the garden is coming alive. In a few more weeks it will be pretty much all green. Until then I still have lot's to do. I had planned to plant some peas too today but Niki was getting cranky so I stopped after an hour and took the boys on a nice late afternoon walk.

Welcome April

Today was the first day of sunshine in what felt like weeks. I did not have much time to enjoy it, as I spend the morning at the vets with the dog (Jessie has a swollen ear for about 3 weeks now and no treatment helped so far). After the boys woke up form their afternoon nap, we went outside to enjoy the sun. First time outside with out a blanket or winter coat... We soaked up the sun and hope that more is on it's way.

Wishing you all a happy Easter. I have not posted much lately, because there was not much too talk. The days seem to be more or less the same day in and day out and I didn't find much time to go on the PC.

The boys are 10.5 month old now. They are growing so fast it's unbelievable. This weekend was their first Easter, not that they are yet aware of holidays. I spend the day cooking and outside. It was not as warm as yesterday but it was nice enough and I decided to take the boys out to the local Easter bonfire celebration. We only stayed for an hour, chatting to people, eating 'bratwurst' and chips and having a good time. We left shortly before 8pm, before the fire was lit as the boys were tired. Niklas was asleep at 8:05pm and Jacob followed a few minutes later and I am using the time to look through the pictures I took this weekend and updating the blog :)

Struggle

It's cold outside. Winter has arrived. We had some snow and now temperatures have dropped to -10C. We are still going out twice a day, but yesterday morning it was way too cold for a walk, so I bundled them up and we went shopping in the morning. In the afternoon we went out again as normal. I love how crispy clear the air is.

Right now I am struggling when it comes to bed time. Niklas who so far nursed to sleep, doesn't want to nurse on his favorite site anymore. He will arch his back and just refuses with a lot of crying. I am sure he is uncomfortable somehow but I don't know what it is. He is nursing fine on his less preferred side.  On top of that his going to sleep can be anything from 10 minutes to 2,5 hours, unfortunately we are looking more at the longer times. It's all connected as far as I am concerned. I went to the doctors on Monday with him but nothing wrong was found, other then a slightly red throat. It's trying my patience to be honest but we will get over it.
