the rabbits & their food

Since Muckel has turned 4 month now, I figured I give it a try to mate him and Mia. So I took her out of the cage and put her in his cage and waited and watched. Here is the two of them together. From what I learned Muckel might have been successfull but we will only know for sure in 31 days from now. Well fingers crossed.

I then spend some time to clear and thin out the root crops that I planted for the rabbits

cabbage & beans

Eearlier today I went to the local nursery to get some red & white cabbage and kholrabi plants. At 0.15 cent the piece it was cheaper to get them grown at the nursery then me attempting to do it at home (and I did try at least with the kholrabi). I planted them, as well as the beans and some more cucumbers and just as I finished a nice slow rain started to fall down, that's what I call timing

Raspberries & tomatos

Today has been an amazingly busy day. Last night I was at one of my neighbour's to trade flowers and she asked if I am interested in taking a couple more raspberries from her, since otherwise they will be trown away. She is in her early 80s and reducing her garden as can't do that much anymore. I alredy got some plants in fall last year and I am of the opinion one can never have enough raspberries so I said of course I take them.

Early this morning I started to work on the soil where I wanted to plant the raspberries and then went to her garden to dig them out. I spend the better part of the day digging around and planting about 20-25 raspberry bushes.

Once that was finished I decided to plant my tomato seedlings outside as well. They have come along nicely and I now have 9 plants that are sitting outside, waiting to grown.

Needless to say that I was tired in the evening but sill enjoyed a nice sunset

1st of may BBQ

1st of May is a Bank Holiday in Germany, also known as Labour Day. I had planned a BBQ with family and a friend, for the help I had with the fence. I spend the morning, setting stones in front of the fence to make it sturdier and then we started with some food at around 1pm.

It wasn't to hot and the food and drinks were delicious, we had a strawberry-rhubarb fruit wine to go with the food, meat, potato salad, salsa, fresh baked ciabbata bread and regular salad. All in all a great day, with great company

Finishing the fence

Well since I quit my job, I decided I might as well finish the fence today. So with some help we went right on it and a few hour later the fence stood. Jill, the little tiger came out to inspect, help and most importantly get cuddles. Later on I let the dogs out so they could inspect the fence and we had a nice play in the grass. Now I can start growing the beans and cabbage this week.
