Weekend

We spend the Sunday in Chester-le-Street at my friends Shelley's. It was her birthday and we had not seen each other for a while, so we were both desprate to catch up on each other. The weather was nice, lot's of sun and we spend 95% of our time outside in the garden. Jessie and Lily enjoyed the attention they got of Shelley, Gary and especially of the kids. lily played ball all afternoon until she busted her paw and I forced her for a break. That was a good thing since she just wanted to continue to play, she is barely able to walk today and is due for anitbioitcs at the vets later. She must have had a blister at her paw and that opened. The paw looks sore and she refuses to walk today but otherwise leaves the paw alone unlike Jessie who would bite on it.

Later on Maria came by too, I used to work with Maria and she is Shelley's sister in law. They brought their two year old Labrador Oscar with them and Lily in a suprise move got on pretty good with him, which I was very pleased about.

Sunny Spring weekend

Despite foggy mornings on both days, the weekend turned into a wonderful, warm and sunny spring weekend with temperatures in the early 20s celcius. After morning walks with the dogs on Saturday I went to the library and returned a few books and came back with The elephant Whisperer. That book was amzing and I had tears in my eyes at times. It was a good read and I had it finished by night. Sunday turned to even warmer T-shirt weather and the dogs and me spend some time outside, before going back in side as the temperatures were a bit too much for them. I then went to clean up the back yard to prepare some of the growbags. I moved the garlic that I had planted in January to one growbag and also added some spring onions to it. The other grow back contains kohlrabi and another one has carrots. I have 4th growbag that is on the side and not planted yet and I also planted some salat. Had to remind myself that it's only end of March as that was easy to forget with those temperatures. The rest of the weekend we spend relaxing and Jessie enjoyed open door season :)

Today

y

It's been a beautiful day to come back to, temperatures around 13 degrees celcius, sun and blue sky,  gralic is growing, a great potato rosti for lunch and some well deserved time outside with the dogs.

back home

After another, 25 hours, 800 miles and 5 countries, I am back in Newcastle since 9am this morning. The journey went well and the dogs where so quiet and sleeping al lthe time. I had problems with my shoulder about 30 miles from Calais which handicapped me a bit as I was in so much pain and unable to move my shoulder. I had planned to drive trhough to Newcastle once I get accross but the pain was unaberable and the only option I had was to take a sleep in the car (I had this problem before and need to lay down and put preassure on the shoulder). We got up at 5:20am this morning and did the last leg of the journey. Now I can relax until tomorrow afternoon when I have to get back to work.
